Hands down, Los Muertos Beach is Puerto Vallarta’s most lively and popular beach. Located in el Centro, this long sandy beach is a bit funky and eccentric with lots of cool restaurants and bars, performers, and strolling vendors selling their wares. Most evenings, Mariachi and musicians wander up and down the beach, playing for tips. A favorite place for parasailing, this is a fun area to watch or participate. A fabulous amenity along Los Muertos Beach is the new and elegant Los Muertos Pier.
At the new and beautiful Los Muertos Pier, small boats depart with tourists travelling to beaches farther south. This beautiful curved structure shaped like a sail is a delightful melding of modern architecture with every-day sensible practicality. Situated in an area popular with tourists, it makes taking water taxis to other beaches along Banderas Bay whichk are accessible only by water quick and easy. Visitors can also sign up for snorkeling, diving or fishing charters. And directly off Los Muertos Pier there are plenty of other boat excursions departing daily for activities such as whale watching and sight seeing. Los Muertos Pier is lit up at night with spot lights that slowly rotate through a series of changing colors. And in the evenings, standing along the railings of the pier’s wide walkway overlooking the water and city you can take in a broad spectrum of twinkling and shimmering lights along the shores of Puerto Vallarta. Looking out at this impressive scene with a light breeze in the air and sweet ambiance all around you is something precious, special and truly memorable.
